The
Connecticut CFIDS & FM Association Joins Forces with
Community Health Charities of Connecticut
We are
proud to announce that The Connecticut CFIDS & FM
Association has been accepted by Community Health
Charities of Connecticut as an associate member.
Community Health Charities of Connecticut is a non-profit
organization dedicated to raising funds through workplace
giving campaigns for local chapters of national health
agencies. These health agencies offer vital resources and
services including education, treatment, outreach and
research in communities throughout Connecticut.
"All funding we receive helps us to better serve
YOU. More funding will assist in our continuing efforts
to educate doctors by allowing us to provide an
educational program in the state specifically geared
toward health care professionals. We also would be able
to provide more conferences, better services for our
patients, and donate more to promising research projects.
Money is always an issue, but with your assistance we can
do more. So, get the word out to your friends and family
about Community Health Charities of Connecticut."
Employees from companies throughout the state, as well as
federal and CT state employees will now have the option
to designate their workplace donations to The Connecticut
CFIDS & FM Association and help in the fight for
research and better Doctor education within Connecticut
for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia.
We are proud to add The Connecticut CFIDS & FM
Association to our federation, says Kevin Canavan,
president of Community Health Charities of Connecticut.
We know that our fundraising efforts are critical.
The statistics speak for themselves: A study conducted by
researchers at DePaul University estimates CFS at
approximately 422 per 100,000 persons in the U.S. This
means as many as 12,660 people statewide suffer from this
illness. 90% of patients have not been diagnosed and are
not receiving proper medical care for their illness. Not
only do we strive to raise awareness, we look forward to
giving employees of companies throughout Connecticut
additional choices of where they can donate their
money.
If you are interested in making a donation to The
Connecticut CFIDS & FM Association and your company
does not have a Community Health Charities of Connecticut
campaign, please call 1-800-344-6071 or visit
